Self-harm and suicide prevention are critical public health priorities that require effective and economically sustainable strategies. This session will present a systematic review of economic evaluations of various interventions, including individual-level, service-level, and staff-training approaches within healthcare settings. The discussion covered:
✔️ Types of interventions and their settings
✔️ Economic model designs and handling of uncertainties
✔️ Methodological and reporting quality of studies
✔️ Challenges and best practices in conducting economic evaluations for suicide prevention within the NIHR Patient Safety Research Collaborations (PSRCs)
About the speaker:
Fanyi Su is a Research Associate in Health Economics at the Manchester Centre for Health Economics. She completed her MSc in Health Economics at the University of York and has a keen research interest in economic evaluations in mental health and child health interventions.
