The NIHR is providing opportunities for NIHR Academy Members based within NIHR Patient Safety Research Collaborations (PSRCs) to undertake short bespoke placements to enhance their research training experience, career, skills and networks.

The NIHR Short Placement for Research Collaboration (SPARC) is open for applications until 19 November 2026. Placements include funding of up to £15,000 per individual and offer the chance to experience research within another NIHR setting.

It allows you to explore the wide range of facilities, expertise and training opportunities available across the NIHR for your personal and professional development. SPARC provides the opportunity to design and develop a personalised career development placement to reflect your training needs, background, skills/experience and career trajectory.
