SafetyNet Webinar – Patient Safety Incident Response Framework: Where we are and where we are going
On June 26th, Dr Tracey Herlihey, Deputy Director of Patient Safety (Digital) at NHS England, presented a webinar for the SafetyNet seminar series titled The Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF): Where We Are and Where We Are Going.
In the webinar, Dr Herlihey discussed the aim of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), which seeks to provide a new, compassionate, system-focused, and proportionate approach to learning from safety events and supporting improvement. She detailed how PSIRF was initially developed and how ongoing research continues to inform its design, implementation, and evaluation.
The webinar also addressed current and future strategic patient safety challenges prioritised by NHS England, with a focus on how research impacts national policy and opportunities for future collaboration. The event attracted the largest SafetyNet audience to date, including clinicians, managers, and academics, who engaged in stimulating discussions and asked insightful questions.
The seminar was attended by researchers from all six PSRCs as well as clinicians from NHS Trusts.
